To every man
To every man a different God
No matter his religion
For in our heart of hearts we know
What we can and can’t believe in.
We may never speak that truth
With ourselves or others
Our sisters and our brothers
On our path that travels further.
As we thread ten million miles
The earth will travel every day
As it makes a never ending journey
Around the Centre of the Milky Way.
In turn our Galaxy hurtles further on
As our system spirals through the universe
That journeys ever further on a road
We’ve traveled since our birth.
But alas that road has gone
Seen for a second then disappeared
Leaving but a distant memory
Another psalm in outer space
